Garry is the current President and Director of the Tourism Hospitality and Catering Institute of Australia (THCIA) and a Director of Tourism Training Australia (TTA) and Board of Hospitality Training Network (HTN). Garry is also an active member of The Culinary Federation of Australia (ACF) and held a position on the advisory panel for Skills IQ – Travel sector. Garry is an innovative, highly committed & motivated Vocational Teacher & Chef and Event Planner with 40 years’ experience in Hospitality, Tourism, Business, Events area, supported by a verity of positions from Chef of many establishments and planning Events for Industry and small personal functions. Garry has more than 21 years teaching experience in the private and public sector and holds a Bachelors of Adult Education and a Master of Education, from the University of Technology, Sydney.
John has had over 36 years experience in the ELICOS sector, with 19 of those at senior management level, at various educational institutes in Australia. He has taught in Europe, Japan, Taiwan and Australia, and was an IELTS examiner at UQ for 14 years. During his time at management level in ELICOS, John was able to navigate a number of NEAS and ASQA audits with repeated success, played a pivotal role in the start-up of several colleges and assisted with the successful sale of others. John has an extensive and up to date knowledge of the relevant legislation and the ever changing registration requirements, and also has a deep understanding of the drivers of success for CRICOS registered providers and domestic RTOs. John has worked as an educational and management consultant for the previous three years. He holds a Masters of Applied Linguistics from Griffith University, a B.A from Melbourne University and a Dip. Ed. from Sydney Teachers College.
Matthew has held a range of senior leadership roles across the Vocational, Employment and Tertiary sectors, including public and private vocational providers, and peak industry associations. Matthew specialises in organisational and workforce development strategies and programs for both State and Federal governments, is a strategic planner on growth strategies for businesses and RTOs, and has led employment and skills projects for the majority of his time in the sector. Tertiary qualified with over 30 years’ experience in organisational and workforce development, Matthew is a passionate advocate for the benefits skills development and meaningful career pathways, can benefit the lives and livelihoods of individuals and organisational productivity levels and overall performance. .
